Oleoestepa, the leading cooperative in the production and marketing of extra virgin olive oil, has once again been awarded the prestigious Mario Solinas prize, granted by the International Olive Council (IOC). This time, it received third place in the medium fruity category for its magnificent extra virgin olive oil, Estepa Virgen.
The IOC Mario Solinas Award is a globally renowned annual event that recognizes the exceptional quality of extra virgin olive oils. In this edition, Oleoestepa once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence and quality, competing with the best producers worldwide.
The award was given to Oleoestepa’s cooperative, La Inmaculada Concepción SCA, from La Roda de Andalucía (Sevilla), for a batch of 32,000 kilos of Estepa Virgen extra virgin olive oil.
“We are thrilled and honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Álvaro Olavarría, Oleoestepa’s General Manager. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our farmers and production team, as well as our firm belief in quality and sustainability at every step of the process. My sincerest congratulations to everyone involved.”
Estepa Virgen extra virgin olive oil is the result of a careful selection of olives from the hojiblanca, picual, manzanilla, arbequina, and lechín varieties, grown on Oleoestepa’s more than 60,000 hectares of olive groves using integrated production techniques. Harvested during the veraison in October and November, Estepa Virgen is characterized by its intense green color, aroma of freshly cut grass and green fruits, and a full, balanced sensory experience on the palate, with always green notes and a perfectly balanced intensity of spiciness and bitterness.
This award not only recognizes the exceptional quality of this product but also highlights Oleoestepa’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and the promotion of extra virgin olive oil culture on an international level.
